Custom Eyewear in North Vancouver: Designed by You, Made In-House

Custom eyewear being created with a Ronchini CNC machine at Hollyburn Eye Clinic in North Vancouver

Have you ever found a pair of glasses you almost loved?

The colour may have been perfect, but the shape felt slightly off. Perhaps the frame was too wide, too narrow, too bold, or not bold enough.

At Hollyburn Eye Clinic, your ideal frames do not have to exist yet. We can help you create them.

Our custom eyewear in North Vancouver is designed around your style and made in-house using our Italian Ronchini CNC milling machine. You choose the colour, shape, size, and finish. Then, our team helps bring your vision to life.

What Is Custom Eyewear?

Custom eyewear gives you more control over the design of your glasses.

Instead of choosing only from ready-made frames, you can help shape the design from the beginning. You may want to adjust a frame you already love. For example, you could change its width, soften the corners, choose another colour, or select a different finish.

You can also begin with a completely new idea.

The goal is simple: to create glasses that feel personal, functional, and distinctly yours.

Why Choose Custom Eyewear in North Vancouver?

Glasses are both a vision tool and an important part of your everyday style. Many people wear them from morning until night. Therefore, the right frames should feel comfortable and reflect your personality.

Ready-made eyewear offers many excellent choices. However, standard frames cannot suit every face, preference, or design idea.

Custom glasses offer another option when you want greater control over the final result.

Custom eyewear may be right for you if:

  • You often find frames that are too wide or too narrow.
  • You love a frame shape but want a different colour.
  • You want to adjust the size or proportions of a design.
  • You prefer a matte, polished, or distinctive finish.
  • You want eyewear that feels truly one of a kind.
  • You have an idea that you cannot find in a standard collection.

Small changes can make a big difference. In addition, designing your own frames can turn eyewear shopping into a creative and collaborative experience.

Meet Our Italian Ronchini CNC Machine

Hollyburn Eye Clinic uses a CNC milling machine from Ronchini Milling Technologies in Italy.

CNC stands for computer numerical control. The machine follows a digital design to mill the main frame components with a high level of accuracy.

This technology allows our team to produce custom eyewear on-site instead of relying only on pre-made designs.

For eyewear production, the machine can mill the front of the frame and its temples from the selected frame material.

However, technology is only one part of the process. Careful finishing, assembly, and fitting help transform the milled components into a complete pair of glasses.

How We Create Your Custom Glasses

You do not need to arrive with a technical drawing or a finished design. A favourite colour, an existing pair of glasses, an inspiration photo, or a general idea can be enough to begin.

1. Share Your Ideas

First, tell us what you like and what you would change about the glasses you have tried before. Perhaps you want a classic shape in a modern colour. Maybe you want a bold frame with softer proportions. You might also have an existing pair that is almost perfect but needs a few adjustments.

Our team will help you narrow down the details.

2. Choose the Shape, Size, Colour, and Finish

Next, you select the elements that will make the frame your own.

You can explore different shapes and proportions. You can also choose your preferred colour and select from the available finishes.

These choices allow you to create something subtle and timeless or bold and expressive.

3. Prepare the Digital Design

We then translate your choices into a digital design for the CNC machine.

At this stage, we review the design details before production begins. This step connects your creative choices with the technical requirements of the frame.

4. Mill the Frame In-House

The Ronchini CNC machine mills the frame components at Hollyburn Eye Clinic.

Creating the frames on-site allows our team to stay closely involved throughout the process. We can follow the design from the first conversation through production and finishing.

5. Finish, Assemble, and Fit the Frame

Finally, we finish and assemble the frame.

Once the frame is complete, our team fits the glasses so they sit properly and feel comfortable. We can then add prescription lenses based on your individual vision needs.

Custom Glasses That Reflect Your Style

Custom does not have to mean dramatic.

Your ideal frame may be subtle, classic, colourful, artistic, or somewhere in between. The design should reflect what you enjoy wearing.

For example, you might choose:

  • A familiar shape in an unexpected colour
  • A bold design with softer proportions
  • A neutral frame with a matte finish
  • A larger or smaller version of a style you already love
  • A completely original concept

The best design is one you will feel confident wearing. As a result, the process begins with your preferences rather than a passing trend.

The Benefits of Custom-Made Glasses

Custom eyewear offers more than a unique appearance. It can also address common frustrations that arise when shopping for glasses.

More Control Over the Design

You can take part in choosing the features that matter most to you. These may include the frame’s shape, width, size, colour, and finish.

A More Personal Result

Your glasses become more than an accessory selected from a display. They become a design created with your preferences in mind.

Local, In-House Production

Hollyburn Eye Clinic mills the custom frame components at our North Vancouver clinic. Therefore, our team remains connected to the process from design through completion.

A Collaborative Experience

You do not need to understand eyewear manufacturing to create custom frames. Our team will guide you through the available options and help turn your ideas into a wearable design.
